Trust & verification

What circld does,
and what it doesn't.

circld is a discovery and messaging platform. Here's how listings are checked and what stays the responsibility of you and the other side of the chat.

Every listing, before it goes live.

Photos match the item

We check that the photos look like the actual item being offered, not stock images or marketing shots from somewhere else.

Description is accurate

Title, category, and description need to describe a real, rentable item with enough detail for a renter to know what they're getting.

Pricing is reasonable

Listings with clearly inflated daily rates or deposit amounts that don't fit the item get sent back to the host.

No prohibited items

Firearms, regulated substances, items that require a licence to operate, and anything our Termsprohibits aren't allowed.

What we don't do.

We don't process payments

Renters and hosts agree on price and payment method in chat. Cash, e-transfer, or whatever you both prefer. circld never holds your money.

We don't insure rentals

There's no damage cover, theft cover, or platform-backed guarantee. Hosts should ask for a deposit on valuable items and document condition at pickup.

We don't mediate disputes

If something goes wrong, you and the other party work it out directly. Keep conversations in the app so there's a record.

We don't verify user identity

We review listings, not the people behind them. Treat every meet-up like meeting a stranger from a marketplace. Meet in public when reasonable, and trust your instincts.

Before you meet up.

Agree on terms in chat

Dates, daily rate, deposit, and what happens if the item is returned late or damaged. Settle this in writing before you meet.

Document the item at pickup

Take a few photos together at pickup, especially of any existing wear. Do the same at return. It saves arguments later.

Meet somewhere sensible

Daylight, a public spot, or a busy parking lot are all fine. Bring someone if that's more comfortable.

Report problems

If a listing is misleading or someone behaves badly, email support@circld.com. We follow up on every report.
