The items below are rejected, full stop. If you're unsure, email support@circld.com before submitting.
Always prohibited.
Firearms, ammunition, weapons
Including air rifles, replica firearms, knives marketed as weapons, and martial-arts weapons regardless of local law.
Regulated substances
Tobacco, vapes, cannabis (recreational or medicinal), alcohol, and pharmaceuticals, including over-the-counter medication.
Recalled or unsafe goods
Anything subject to an active safety recall (Health Canada, CPSC, etc.), visibly damaged safety gear like helmets and harnesses, or expired car seats and gas cylinders.
Counterfeit or stolen goods
Replica brand items, items sold as genuine but obviously not, and anything you don't legally own or have explicit permission to rent out.
Live animals
Pets, livestock, exotic animals, breeding services. Not on circld.
Adult-only items
Items intended for adult-only use that aren't appropriate for a general-audience marketplace.
Allowed, with care.
Power tools
Fine. Note voltage and any safety guards. We'll reject listings for modified or de-fanged safety mechanisms.
Outdoor cooking equipment
Camping stoves and BBQs are allowed. Fuel canisters are not. Renters bring their own.
Climbing gear
Allowed if life-safety items (ropes, harnesses, helmets) are within manufacturer service life. Soft goods older than 10 years will be rejected.
Drones, chainsaws, scuba gear
Allowed if you and the renter both have any licences, training, or registrations the item requires in your jurisdiction. circld doesn't verify these. Be specific in the listing about what's needed and confirm credentials in chat before handing the item over.
Trailers, boats, jet skis
Allowed. circld doesn't process payments, hold deposits, or insure rentals, and we don't verify driver or operator credentials. Both sides are responsible for confirming the right insurance, licences, and permits are in place before the rental starts. If your jurisdiction requires commercial coverage, that's on you.
Cars, motorcycles, RVs
Allowed but high-stakes. Rentals of road vehicles typically require commercial insurance and provincial paperwork that personal coverage doesn't include. Most hosts and renters are better served by a dedicated platform built for this. If you list anyway, both parties confirm coverage in writing first.
