About circld

What is circld?

circld is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace. People list items they own (tools, camping gear, sports equipment, cameras), and other people nearby rent them. The web is for finding what's around. Browsing, chatting, and arranging the rental happen in the app.

Does circld process payments?

No. Renters and hosts agree on a price in chat and pay each other directly. Cash, e-transfer, or whatever you both prefer. circld doesn't hold or move money.

Does circld take a fee or commission?

No. Listing on circld is free, and we don't take a percentage of the rental.

Where does circld work?

Anywhere there are listings. We're early. There are listings live now and we add new cities as hosts join. Browse what's available.

For renters

Renting an item

How do I rent something?

Find a listing on the website or in the app, then open it in the app and message the host. You'll agree on the rental dates, price, and pickup, then meet up to collect the item.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. You can browse all listings on circld.com without an account. To message a host and arrange a rental, you'll need to download the app and create an account.

How do I pay the host?

That's between you and the host. Most people use cash on pickup or e-transfer. Agree on the method in chat before you meet.

What if the item isn't what I expected?

Inspect the item with the host at pickup. If it doesn't match the listing, you can decline to take it. No obligation. Email support@circld.com if a listing was misleading so we can review it.

For hosts

Listing an item

How do I list an item?

Listings are created in the app. Download circld, tap "list an item," add photos and a description, set your daily rate and pickup window, and submit. See the host page for the full walkthrough.

How long does listing review take?

Usually within a day. We check that photos match the item, the description is accurate, pricing is reasonable, and the item isn't prohibited. Listings that need changes get a note explaining what to update.

Can I set a deposit?

Yes. Listings can include a refundable deposit amount. Since circld doesn't process payments, the deposit is held and returned by you and the renter directly. Agree on how that works in chat.

What can't I list?

Firearms, regulated substances, items that require a licence to operate, and anything our Terms prohibit. When in doubt, email us before listing.

Are listings verified?

Yes. Every listing is reviewed by circld before it appears in search. See Trust & verification for what we check.

Are users verified?

We review listings, not the people behind them. Treat meet-ups like any marketplace meet-up: public spots, daylight, bring a friend if it makes you more comfortable.

Is there damage cover or insurance?

No. circld doesn't insure rentals. Hosts should ask for a deposit on valuable items and document condition at pickup with the renter. If something is broken on return, you and the renter sort it out directly.

What if there's a dispute?

circld doesn't mediate disputes between users. Keep your conversation in the app so you have a record, and try to resolve it directly. Email support@circld.com to flag bad behaviour so we can review the account.

How do I report a listing or user?

Email support@circld.com with a link to the listing or a screenshot. We follow up on every report.

How do I delete my account?

From the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. Or email support@circld.comand we'll handle it.
